RKS Marketing & Web Design
was originally founded in 1996 in Pleasanton, California.
In the past 12 years we have created literally thousands
of websites for local clients as well as many clients
throughout the U. S. and along the way we have accumulated
a wealth of experience, particularly in effective web
design, search engine optimization and marketing, and
a wide variety of web technologies.
Web Development Experience
Over the years we've created
virtually every kind of website one could imagine, including
many e-commerce sites with custom-written shopping carts,
third party shopping carts, and pre-packaged shopping
cart software. As such we can offer ecommerce solutions
that are most appropriate for specific clients.
Similarly, we've created a wide variety
of custom database-driven applications utilizing technologies
such as ColdFusion, PHP, MySQL, MS SQL Server and other
similar programming and database technologies. These technologies allow us to
do some rather amazing things with websites, pretty
much anything our customers can imagine. One of the
more common uses of database technology is to allow
the website owner to update his own site instantly - typically called a Content Management System, or CMS.

RKS Marketing & Web Design
was founded in 1996 by Rich Stieg, a computer industry
executive of many years with strong business and technical
backgrounds and education that includes an MBA in Marketing.
As a result, we have always been heavily focused on
a business approach to web design and marketing. We
try to focus on our clients' business objectives and
goals to make sure our sites are effective in helping
them to grow their businesses. The result has been a
large customer base of highly satisfied users who have
enjoyed great success with their websites, often attributing
significant business growth to that online success.
Rich has also been a part owner in
several web-based businesses over the years, including
CyberSounds (creative audio applications for websites),
Get Local USA (local marketing for local businesses),
Read Me A Book
(non-profit project to help teach reading to both children
and adults through online and audio technologies), Healthy
Practices (community healthcare websites and ezines
sponsored by local healthcare professionals), and VendCentral
(custom websites and other specific marketing solutions
for the vending industry). These wide and varied web-based
businesses have all contributed to a wealth of business,
technical, and marketing knowledge that continues to
contribute significantly to our clients' online success.
